Stuart, Bryan, Doug, Charly, Bianka and Emad from KPMG have launched a project to help underprivileged people in Sibiu, Romania in cooperation with Papageno. They are coordinating a collection drive for personal and household items in Switzerland and will distribute them on-site in Romania. More

The Volunteering in Tanzania project won the current poll: it was selected as the best project that was either carried out or posted in April or May on the Growth Generator. Jeffrey Menard will spend two weeks in a Tanzanian orphanage cooking, cleaning, teaching children and helping wherever he is needed. We congratulate Jeffrey and are impressed by his commitment. More

Visitors have voted and selected NetZ4 – Supporting children and youth in Zurich’s Kreis 4 as the best Community & Environment project on the Growth Generator. Dijana Bacic is looking for colleagues who are willing to offer private tuition to children and young adults from Zurich’s Kreis 4 and to help them prepare for the application process. We wish her much success. More

Participants in our latest vote chose the “Young talents in China” project as the best of Fitness & Fun. The project, which was created by Remo Turcato from KPMG’s Geneva office, will enable six talented young table tennis players from Switzerland to train for and compete in an official competition in Beijing in 2011. More

The votes are in and art@noon was selected as our second Project of the Month. The art@noon team – five KPMG employees, including one trained choreographer – are creating a special show that blends poetry and dance, which will be performed in Zurich in October 2010. We applaud the team’s creativity and look forward to seeing the performance later this year. More

Hubert Achermann will be setting aside his title of CEO of KPMG to work at the Steinhof nursing home in Lucerne for four days. This endeavor will be something completely new for him. For Mr. Achermann it was obvious: "My anniversary project should be a personal challenge. Something I've never done before." More

When you watch a rowing eight in motion, it seems so smooth and effortless. Yet what looks so easy is in reality hard work – a combination of peak physical performance and absolute precision. In addition to intensive fitness and endurance training, regular practice on the water is needed at least twice a week in order to mount a successful challenge in a race. More

The TORTOUR is Switzerland's first non-stop bike race, which runs day and night for 36-48 hours and is based on the Race Across America. Participants range from solo racers to six-person teams. Mathias Hausherr, initiator of the TORTOUR anniversary project, explains: "Finding four KPMG colleagues who could get excited about this 'tort(o)urous' race wasn't easy. We managed to put together a team made up of Mike Blume, Joe Pacelli, Norbert Strub and me." More

Pius Ziegler, Alex Senn and Ursina Gisler have known each other since they were kids. It's no wonder: they all come from the canton of Uri. They will hike together from Zurich to their home canton for KPMG. Although all three are fairly athletic, none of them has ever hiked 100 kilometers at once – and certainly not from Zurich to Uri. Yet all three are convinced that they will make it. More

One of his reasons for climbing Mont Blanc is for his own personal development outside of work. Martin is looking forward to the combination of physical exertion and the spectacular view he will get to enjoy. "At the end I'll be standing on top of Mont Blanc and can say to myself: I walked up there – every step of the way. That'll be a great feeling." More

These three women see learning sign language as a kind of adventure. None of them knows how long it takes to learn the language or whether or not they have a knack for it. As a special project for our anniversary, Wendy, Isabelle and Larissa will produce a video in sign language explaining how to optimize your taxes. More

During her trip through Africa, Nathaly has decided to spend some time at an animal care facility as an anniversary project. Whether that project will entail cleaning out snake and cheetah cages or caring for orphaned animals, she will find out when the time comes. That's just how it is in Africa. As Nathaly says, "We'll take it as it comes." More
